Finally i got round to finishing this piece today, it's taken me about 25 hrs to complete which is a long time for me, i was also debating on whether to use coloured pencil on the lips and nails, however i decided to stay with my original idea of just graphite pencil.

Lingering moments has been added to my Canvas Beauties Collection and will soon be available in my Etsy shop as an A4 print.

Ever since i opened my shop on Etsy i've been spending some time there checking out what artisans are creating, there really are some gems to be found.

Shantique is one of those little gems i stumbled upon the other day whilst putting together a treasury, needless to say i had to include one of her wonderful creations. She works with vintage Kimono fabric and brings it to life into a modern and accessible style. Love it!

I got back this morning from having been away for a couple of days, i'm terrible because when i'm working on a particular piece that's pretty much all i can think about, so to not be able to immerse myself in work felt pretty frustrating. Anyway, i happily managed to do a bit more this afternoon on her, however there is still loads more to do as you can see. This is the last shot you'll see of her as a WIP before i post her up here and into my shop hopefully very soon :)))

I've had geometric shapes floating around in my head for the past few days so thought i'd relieve myself :)) I like the idea of strong shapes and lines mixed with the softness of my usual creations, i think i may do a few more of these to create a series. Some key words associated with triangle meaning are:

Integration

Subjectivity

Culmination

I've had a great day clearing up my folders on my Mac and trashing everything i really don't need anymore, (i sooo needed to do it) ticking off chores from my "Priority" list of things to do, getting details ready for an important meeting tonight AND freshening up an old piece of work i felt needed a face lift, thought i'd share her with you here and here. With lots going on at the moment i have from time to time felt quite scattered energetically, this has taught me more than ever the importance of taking time out to be still and to realign myself in the midst of change.

Despite the feeling that i am being pulled in several different directions at once, i am happy to have eventually got round to finishing my latest piece Rapture, and especially more so now that my Landlord has decided to extend, therefore building work is soon to start under my house for about a month, dust and noise pollution as i am sure you realize really isn't conducive to working effectively. So, in order to get everything done it looks like early morning bird song will have to be my alarm clock.

This is the piece that set in motion the idea of my current secret project. I am normally terrible at holding back exciting news, always one to share enthusiastically, however in order to preserve some energy for its manifestation and not feel scattered, holding back is exactly what i need to do. I have other pieces that will remain in hiding until nearer the end of this year.

Here's another project piece i finished a while back, i just wasn't feeling ready to reveal her to you. I've been inspired by nature a lot more recently, bringing more things into my work that i wouldn't normally go for, it's been truly refreshing. Having included some feathers into her little cap I was very happy when i read this article afterwards. Symbolic meaning of Peacocks Just a little confirmation for me to trust, let go and follow my intuition more when drawing. Happy Days!

Oh! and just to let you know, i'm playing with design ideas for the blog so this background colour may change again soon, it's all involving some important projects/moves in 2010, i will of course keep you posted.

Well it's late on a Thursday night and i am still busy drawing, playing, experimenting. I've been flat out of late working on an on going project that has me firing on all cylinders, can't wait to have it completed. In between pieces for this project i am also going back to a few of my favorite graphite portraits and seeing if i can add something new to them, without taking anything away.

'Je t'aime' was a piece i did about a year ago, i felt a need to add a bit more mystery to her. Hope you like!
